such a beautiful picture! with the black and white and the rocks just peeking out, it looks like the island itself is on a cloud. really captures your attention :D it has an early morning, right before sunrise look to it. it is very breathtaking. (i will not be able to reach a hundred words, dear god.) i love the photo and i wish i had the chance to travel for photography. this will be in my favorites when i'm done with the critique, i promise. once again, beautiful. awe-inspiring. absolutely love this! (this here is so i can reach the word minimum)

Maybe you can help me here... Every time I try to upload a 30MB tiff it converts it to jpg...

convert the shot to .png on your computer... but firstly resize it to lets say 1000px (largest side) that would make your shot about 1mb

Thanks for the advice, I did the same with another picture I took ( [link] ) And compared it to what dA was displaying it as before and definitively noticed the increase in sharpness!

Was the black and white setting programmed on the camera when it was taken, or was it edited later?

Awesome thanks, I'm just curious because I'm not sure whether its best to use the camera's setting for black and white or to edit it later :)
